THE NEW VENTURES OF OLD VINTAGE BLISS!!

Vintage Bliss has been in business in some form or another since 2001! I guess I should add ..in Texas. I have noticed on the web, and have been contacted by quite a few other NEW Vintage Bliss's in other parts of the country. Which is why this blog has been changed to Vintage Bliss in Texas!

For the last ten years, I have shared VB with two great ladies in retail stores in San Antonio and Boerne, I have done it on my own by doing antique and gift shows and have had spaces in other stores. All of those ventrues have grown the name Vintage Bliss in South Texas. I am so  thankful for all the people who have been VB fans from the very beginning!

It has taken ALL of those avenues and all of these years for me to figure what I love and don't love about retail! -The part I love is the creative part. I loved talking with customers about their homes and how bought items could fit into their homes and how they could best be displayed with the decor they already had. I love making new creations out of old things and creating displays and vignettes. They part I did not love was being away from my family and the so very long hours it takes to keep a store running- I guess I'm not really cut out for a true brick and mortar store!

So, this time I am combining all the things I love! I will be posting some of my own decorating projects and vignettes along with selling some vintage items and my original creations. So excited to get started with this! I am also in the process of opening an Etsy store. I would love to feature some of you! If you have a great vignette you would like to share or have questions about how to create a vintage feel in your home by combining what you already have with some new (old) items, I would love to help!

Beginning again...

After two brick and mortar business adventures and going back to work full time in my former "day job", I have come to the conclusion that neither one is for me!!
It has been 6 months since the store in Boerne  closed. During this time, I have done a lot of praying, soul searching and discussing with my husband and close friends. As I mentioned above, I also returned to a former profession and was honestly miserable!
In this time of transition, I have been able to reflect on the things that are important to me. Right now- in this season of my life. It is my husband and my children. I want to be there for them. Having a store and sharing that with two wonderful friends is something I will never regret, I just know that it does not fit into the life I want for myself right now.
When the store closed, I thought I wanted a break from all things creative and all things vintage and I took one.!  But during these six months,  I have realized how much that has become a part of  me and who I am.
As many of you know, several of the items for sale in the store where items that I designed and created.  I have started creating again and will be offering hand created items and vintage finds on this blog! I will also be selling on Etsy AND some of these items will be for sale in stores in the San Antonio area!
So thankful to be back.

LAUNCH DATE:   WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH!!!
